"Institute of Solar Technology" promotes high-quality training in the installation of solar technologies. Through the work of IST, we expects more than 1,000 youth per year will be trained for the solar industry.
This initiative highlights SCWDS's commitment to promote widespread adoption of solar energy and create new jobs by improving the quality and availability of solar training efforts across the State. IST aims to expand the nation's training solar workforce and empower youth across the country to integrate solar energy into their communities.
Institute of Solar Technology Training Facility offers students the ability to gain experience in installing photovoltaic systems in a controlled environment using the latest products in the renewable energy industry. Situated at Panchla, Howrah, West Bengal,India. it is conveniently located opposite Panchla Busstand, 15 minutes from Bauria railway stations, 1 hour from Howrah Station, 40 minutes from Kolkata, 1 hour from domestic and international airports and easily accessible by all modes of transport.
The practical training facility includes a full size roof on which course participants will install and commission a 1kW PV array to industry best practice guidelines despite weather at the time.
Course participants also have the opportunity to install and commission an array on a frame and experience installing a system on a roof.
The practical training room includes:
Class Room: 200 Sq.ft for theoretical training
Practical Lab Space: 1000 Sq.ft flat roof
all installation and safety equipment necessary to install all systems simultaneously
Computer Lab:P4 PC, Internet facility
